What do we choose to keep close?

It’s not something you decide once.

You notice it in everyday life.

When you leave the house
and without thinking,
you take something with you.

When you come back
and place it in the same spot.

When you pick it up for a moment,
for no specific reason.

You don’t think about it.

You don’t explain it.

It’s just there.

And you keep it close.

Not because you have to.

But because it feels natural.

And somewhere in that,
you begin to understand:

Not everything is the same.

Some things pass through your life.
